I’ve been working on “use ‘em up” type scrappy projects for the last few weeks, and it’s time to do something else. Remembering my vow to start using “the good stuff” in my stash I pulled out a bin of lovely shweshwe fabrics from South Africa.
Not much sewing done yet, but I’ve constructed two blocks. I’m using the directions for Smoothing Iron as found in Gayle Bong’s book Trouble Free Triangles.

Love the colors in your fabrics. I've never heard of them before, but they look beautiful. This looks like a very creative pattern. Can't wait to see the top finished.
That gorgeous fabric deserves to be shown off in a quilt instead of hidden away.
I love the blocks and the colours. Having sewing ready for taking along to sew with friends is wonderful, I try to have at least one project ready to go just in case the phone rings!
